Read about the adventures of earlier students

GSCLM is filled with great experiences, learning, culture, and wonderful students. Here, earlier partipants of the program share some of their most memorable moments.

Friendsgiving
Rosaleen Han, Batch VI
This is the first thanksgiving I’ve celebrated in my life. Canadian students hosted this “Friendsgiving” event and invited the whole batch to celebrate Thanksgiving in our dorm Porcelaenshaven. During the event, we drew turkey hands and expressed our gratitute to each other. We also had a great dinner cooked and served by Canadian students. It was such a unique and wonderful experience!

Game Faces in the Elevator
Marco, Batch VIII
Night outings with Batch 8 are more than just fun—they’re a testament to the friendships we’ve built. Who said an elevator ride couldn’t be fun? During a basketball-themed night, Batch 8 made the most of every moment for Halloween at CUHK-SZ. From team jerseys to goofy poses, this was one of those instances where camaraderie and humor made the ordinary extraordinary.

Oslo and Smiles
Victor Toftdal, Batch VIII
Our visit to the iconic Oslo Opera House was an unforgettable bonding experience. Standing together on the rooftop with the city skyline as our backdrop, we shared laughter, memories, and a renewed appreciation for our global connections. Moments like these remind me of the power of friendship and collaboration, which are central to the Global SCLM program.

Kayaking between the Gulf Islands
Christian Eilertsen, Batch VI
Stuart and I went out on a kayaking trip just after the semester at UBC had ended. We kayaked out from his backyard. It was a fun and unique experience to see big ferries sail by, look at all the wild life, and see this part of British Columbia. In the kayak, we had packed food, a tent, and some sleeping bags. During our trip, we stopped at a couple of different islands and saw the remote nature from the landside. In the evening we stopped and put up the tent, before sailing back the next day. Stuart gave me an exceptional experience. I hope others will take initative to share similar experiences with other GSCLM students.
